Sheikh Hamdan names CEOs for Real Estate Registration and Development sectors as part of broader leadership reshuffle

Dubai, UAE – July 9, 2025 — In a strategic move to strengthen Dubai’s real estate sector, new chief executive officers have been appointed to two pivotal departments within the Dubai Land Department (DLD). The leadership reshuffle underscores the emirate’s ongoing commitment to bolstering transparency, innovation, and investor confidence in one of its most vital economic sectors.

Acting in his capacity as Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum—Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence—issued two new executive appointments:

  • Majid Saqr Abdullah Al Marri has been appointed as the CEO of the Real Estate Registration Sector at DLD.
  • Majida Ali Rashid will assume the role of CEO of the Real Estate Development Sector.

A Key Moment for Dubai’s Property Sector

The appointments come at a time when Dubai's real estate market continues to experience robust growth, attracting both regional and international investors. With record-high transactions and increasing demand across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, the DLD is playing an increasingly strategic role in shaping the future of the emirate.

By bringing in new leadership, the government aims to strengthen the regulatory and developmental frameworks that support Dubai's real estate ecosystem—ensuring it remains competitive, transparent, and aligned with global best practices.

Reinforcing Economic and Urban Development

Dubai’s real estate sector is not only a key economic pillar but also a central component of the city’s long-term urban development agenda. The leadership reshuffle is expected to support initiatives aligned with the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, which focuses on sustainable growth, improved quality of life, and efficient land use.

Majid Saqr Al Marri’s experience in property registration is expected to drive further digital transformation in transactional services, reducing bureaucracy and improving investor trust. Meanwhile, Majida Ali Rashid’s leadership in development planning is likely to support innovative, smart, and sustainable property growth across the emirate.

Aligning with Dubai's Vision

These leadership changes align with broader efforts by the Dubai government to modernize governance and deliver high-performance public services across all sectors. By empowering experienced professionals with clear mandates, Dubai is sending a strong message to local and international stakeholders: the emirate remains firmly focused on maintaining its status as a global real estate hub.

Looking Ahead

As Dubai continues to evolve into a future-ready metropolis, the reinforced leadership at the Dubai Land Department is poised to play a crucial role in maintaining the city's growth momentum.
